Proof is a lagered ale, clean and light in body with a delicious hoppy dryness that makes it moreish. It is top-fermented for taste and lagered in cold temperatures for up to six weeks for smoothness.
Proof was the first Cologne-style lager to be brewed in the UK. It is made in small batches at the Meantime Brewing Company, Greenwich, and contains only malted barley, wheat, hops, water and yeast. Unlike almost every other bottled lager, Proof is unpasteurised, for extra flavour.
Technical data: Cologne-style beer, 4.4% ABV. Top-fermented with Cologne yeast, cold-lagered for 4-6 weeks. Unpasteurised. 330 ml bottles. Contains only malted barley, hops, distilled water and yeast. Sterile filtered, not pasteurized. Brewed in small batches, in accordance with the German Purity Law. |
